A big day of National Hunt action this Thursday and that’s the code we are focusing on today as we head to Worcester.
Plenty of leading yards have runners, but today we are interested in the Jeremy Scott stable – why? Well, they have a very decent 30% strike-rate at the course (8 from 27) and are 3 from 9 (33%) with their chasers here.
Their sole runner is MORLANDS JACK goes in the 2.30 Conditional Jockeys’ Novices’ Handicap.
This 8 year-old was a decent winner here last time out over course and distance and despite an 8lb rise can defy that with jockey Matt Griffiths taking off a handy 3lbs. A 30 day break would have also helped him get over that recent win, while this small, but select, Somerset-based yard have had 20 of their 40 runners this 2013-14 season finish fourth or better (5 winners).
